TIGERS JAW, JUNIOR BATTLES
TURNOVER, YOUNG STATUES, PJ BOND
HARD LUCK BAR, TORONTO / AUGUST 23RD

Just half-way through their Thursday night set, it became obvious – TIGER JAW’s headlining return ultimately claimed the crown for being the most emotionally punishing show of the year. First impressions can rarely produce a stirring atmosphere but strapped to a lineup full of therapeutic East Coast alternative (TURNOVER, PJ BOND), local punk heroes (JUNIOR BATTLES) and fellow Philadelphia rockers  (YOUNG STATUES), the five-piece hit all the right notes. Their openly-cutting anthems bounced off the walls of Toronto’s Hard Luck Bar and transformed into sweaty, blissed-out forms of release that reverberated from the first set of chords to the night’s last open letter.
